Plovers are an all familiar site in the open spaces of school yards, sporting arenas and parklands throughout Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba. With their distinctive alarm call and fighter pilot like assault they present an imposing sight as they vigorously defend their nest or young.
